Hepatitis B is an infectious viral liver infection. It is spread through blood or unprotected sex. The infection usually causes jaundice, tiredness and vomiting, but it can also be asymptomatic. In 10% of cases, a hepatitis B infection can be chronic, eventually leading to cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer. Vaccinations against hepatitis B and A are often combined.
