Cardiac ablation

Cardiac ablation is used to treat irregular heartbeats (e.g. atrial fibrillation) which cannot or cannot easily be treated with drugs. In the procedure, a catheter is inserted into the heart through a blood vessel under X-ray control and creates scarring to block certain electrical signals.
