Breast cancer is a malignant tumour in the breast tissue. The symptoms of breast cancer are lumps, inflammation or swelling, and enlarged lymph nodes. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. Treatment involves surgical removal of the tumour or the whole breast, and radiation or chemotherapy. The indicator shows the frequency of inpatient treatment of patients with breast cancer, both when it is coded as the principal diagnosis and when it is coded as principal or secondary diagnosis.
