A heart attack is when the coronary artery is partly or completely blocked, meaning that the heart muscle is no longer supplied with oxygen and the heart muscles start to die. The Swiss Atlas of Healthcare shows the frequency of heart attacks in conjunction with inpatient treatments, both when it is coded as the principal diagnosis and when it is coded as principal or secondary diagnosis.
