A colonoscopy is an endoscopic examination of the inside of the rectum, colon and a part of the small intestine using a tiny camera. Examination of the colon is frequently used in cancer screening. The Swiss Atlas of Healthcare shows the overall frequency of colonoscopies and the frequency of colonoscopies in inpatient and outpatient settings.
